Our Headquarters is at Oakwood Lane, Barnton. The old Methodist Chapel was purchased by the Society in 1964 as a HQ and rehearsal centre. It was always hoped that one day it would become a Theatre in its own right.
The dream became reality in January 1997 when we were granted our first licence to perform for the public at the Oakwood Lane Theatre.
Much work had been done in the building over the years, and it had become the home theatre of our Junior members, who performed their annual Production at Oakwood Lane for a number of years. However, in 1991 it was decided that nothing less than a complete renovation would go far enough to satisfy the strict demands of the fire and safety regulations, and so "the Project" was born.
With generous Grant aid from the Foundation for Sport and the Arts and Vale Royal Borough Council, and a terrific amount of time and effort from members and friends, 1996 saw the completion of "Phase 1" of the Project - a working Theatre seating 139 people in Proscenium mode.
